The site marks the place where Bhai Jaita Ji paused while carrying the severed head of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to Anandpur Sahib after his martyrdom in 1675. An elderly Muslim saint, Faqir Dargahi Shah, provided shelter here and urged devotees to pay their respects at this location
Guru Gobind Singh Ji visited in 1698 after the Battle of Bhangani to honor his father and meet Faqir Shah, who passed away soon after. His samadhi is preserved near the shrine and is revered by devotees
